Adele

For music on period 5, we did an activity where we need to research a famous artist ,  I chose Adele because she is a idle to me as she keeps trying even when things get hard.

Challenge: She came over her vocal cords because she was meant to have surgery because her vocals were starting to bleed.After surgery and when her vocals fully recovered she had added 4 more vocals to her voice and if she didn't get surgery she wouldn't have been able to sing again.

Today in Instrumental Industries we learnt about different types of music and how or where you can play it, also we sat in groups and wrote it down on paper and wrote what we like to listen to. Then we saw some different videos on ukulele.Then we sat down and learnt a little about ukuleles and then we had to make a slide about ukuleles and the parts.

Aim: To look at how I can prevent climate change in the future.

2. Complete the activity 'Carbon Footprint'.

3. Write down your 10 changes to climate change below. Using ideas from the Ecological Hand print and Carbon Footprint list 10 changes that you can make to stop Climate change?

150 word challenge


It was silent. I looked out my window and everything was gone. My resources, my kai and even my fresh water.I walked outside and checked the village and no one was there.Then I went and checked if the waka was still there and it wasn't. I wondered why they left. I sat in my room for days starving and thirsty also wondering how I was going to survive on this island.As the days went past I was dehydrated and very hungry so I went out to the border of the island to the sea and thought to go fishing. I stood there for an hour, it was getting dark and no fish came up so I went back up to my village.I was feeling very drowsy and I needed to go to sleep.

Wind speed - Making an anemometer.

Anemometer

MATERIALS

  1. pencil 
  2. tape   
  3. pin  
  4. cups x4  
  5.   straw x4

STEPS

  1.   Put holes in your cups
  2.   Then put your straw in a cross and tape the straws together. 
  3.  Then n the end of the straws. 
  4. Then you will be putting the pin in the pencil in the rubber bit.
  5. Then take it out side and see what happens.
Once you have made an anemometer we are going to record the wind speed.

Anemometer (above) 

Roles:


  • Timekeeper
  • Counter
  • Recorder
  • Anemometer Manager
  • Wind generator
  1. Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
  2. When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
  3. If possible, repeat the above step four (4) times and record the average number of spins on the chart.

FINDINGS

  • Record how many times it spins using the table below.
You will need to create the wind yourself by blowing. Get 4 different wind speeds by blowing.

You will need to time them and count the number of spins.

Materials:

  1. Cup (4)
  2. Water
  3. tin foil
  4. 2 sheets white paper
  5. 1 sheet black
  6. Thermometer
  7. 1 large cup
  8. 1 heat lamp

Steps

  1.   Get your cups and fill them half way with water. 
  2.  Then place your pieces of paper down on a hard surface.
  3.  Then place your filled cups. 
  4.   Then place a big plastic cup on top of the cup on 1 of the white pieces of paper.
  5.  Get a heat lamp and turn it on and face it to the one with the big cup for 40 minutes.

Steps


  1.   Label all 3 bottles
  2.   Manure
  3.  Manure & Vegetable Peelings
  4.  Manure & Mashed Banana
  5.  Place 1cup Manure
  6.  1c Manure + 1c vegetable Peelings
  7.  1c Manure + 1c Mashed Banana
  8.  Fill the bottle with water
  9. Place a Balloon on top of the cup

Name: Agricultural crops and wood fuels.
Definition:
Agricultural crops such as silver grass and straw from cereal crops can be used as a fuel for production of heat. Herbaceous material has a different composition from wood and its burning must be handled differently from that of wood.

Research:
Wood energy is the use of wood fuel to produce heat or electricity.

Crop, In agriculture, a plant or plant product that can be grown and harvested extensively for profit or subsistence. By use, crops fall into six categories: food crops, for human consumption wheat, potatoes feed crops, for livestock consumption oats, alfalfa fibre crops

Research:
Biogas means a gas produced by the anaerobic digestion or fermentation of organic matter. The organic matter can be manure, sewage sludge, municipal solid waste, biodegradable waste or any other biodegradable feedstock. Biogas is mainly methane and carbon dioxide.
