Aim: To make a filtration plant using household materials.
Image result for filtration science experiment
Water Filtration Plant
What is filtration?
Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass. Examples are:
    1.  Tea bag
    2.  Coffee Grinder
    3.  Water Jug
    4. Pool filter
      Materials

      1.1.5l plastic bottle
      2.Filter paper
      3.Sand
      4.Cup
      5.Gravel
      6.Dirty Water
      7.Scissors
      8.Craft Knife
Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )
Step 1 Cut the bottle into half with the craft knife and scissors.
Step 2 Put the funnel in the container.

Step 3 Fold the filter paper in 4 like a cone.

Step 4 Place the cone in the funnel.

Step 5 Add layers sand in to the filter paper then add the gravel to the mix.
Step 6 Get 1 cup of dirty water then add it to the mix

      Measurements
Write a short sentence about the water every 1 minute.
Include 'How much water has filtered through', 'How fast it is dripping through', and 'How clear the water is'.
        1. First it came out pretty dirty at first
        2. It only got slightly got cleaner
        3. then it has just stayed like that

        4. It is nearly finished but is not clean. It has stopped filtering at 3 minutes.
          Warning
Make sure that an adult cuts the bottle in half. This water filter is just an experiment and should not be used for drinking water.
Avoid using charcoal briquets, as these can contain chemicals you don't want in your water. Use the activated carbon for water purifiers instead.

          Stop Motion

Stop Motion is a technique used in animation to bring objects to life on screen. This is done by moving the object in different way while filming. When all the frames are played  it shows movement. Clay figures, puppets and white board are often used in stop motion as clay can be handled and repositioned easily. Stop motion animation is almost as old as film itself.  here is a quick video.
